Every gift has a name.
These are not statistics — these are Amour, and the women of Uvira, and the teachers of Burundi.

Amour lost everything.
A local leader stayed.
After losing both parents, Amour's future looked like a statistic. No international NGO came. What came instead was a local community advocate — vetted and resourced by GLF.
This is what we fund: not programs that leave, but people who don't.

The Women of Uvira
A group of women in Uvira had been quietly running a cooperative — selling produce, sharing childcare, pooling resources for school fees — with no external support. GLF didn't bring a new program. We brought resources for the one they'd already built.
"We didn't need someone to tell us what to do. We needed someone to believe what we were already doing was worth investing in."
- ✓ Cooperative expanded from 8 to 14 members
- ✓ Monthly revenue increased by approximately 40%
- ✓ 3 additional families sent children to school
Building Tomorrow's Leaders
In parts of Burundi, teacher salaries go unpaid for months. Schools close not because of violence, but because teachers cannot afford to stay. GLF resources them directly so they keep showing up.
- ✓ 3 educators kept classrooms open when formal schools closed
- ✓ 87 students maintained consistent learning access
- ✓ 1 educator now training 2 additional community teachers

A Future Framed in Gold
Every child in a GLF partner community is a future teacher, doctor, leader — the next generation of local people who will stay. Our Nurture program ensures they have what they need to become that person.
- ✓ School fee support ensures children stay enrolled
- ✓ Direct grants to community teachers who show up regardless
- ✓ Youth leadership programs for ages 14–24

Amour's Story: A Child Rebuilding Hope
Amour’s life changed suddenly after his parents were killed in a rebel attack. Alone and vulnerable, he was first taken in by local military personnel who ensured his immediate safety. Eventually, he was connected to a community caretaker, a man trusted by local leaders, who took responsibility for his well-being.
Through the Gold Life Foundation, ongoing support was provided to help cover his basic needs, food, care, and school supplies. Videos captured Amour receiving clothing and essential items, showing a young child slowly regaining stability.
Amour’s story is one of survival, but also one of community protection. With consistent support, he is now able to grow in an environment of safety rather than fear.
Impact:
- Safe placement with a verified caretaker who ensures his daily needs
- Funds for clothing, food, and basic care
- School supplies to ensure his education continues
- Long-term monitoring through local partners who remain involved in his welfare
Healing Support for Women in Uvira (DRC)
In the east of the Democratic Republic of Congo, women continue to face the long-term effects of conflict and gender-based violence. Many survivors carry invisible trauma while also trying to rebuild their lives and care for their families. Local community leaders often step in to support them, even when resources are scarce.
Through the Gold Life Foundation, financial assistance was sent to a trusted local partner who works directly with affected women. This support helped provide clothing, basic needs, and small amounts of emergency assistance to women rebuilding their lives. Videos sent from Uvira showed the women expressing gratitude, sharing smiles, and receiving items that helped restore their sense of dignity.
Impact:
- Direct aid delivered to women recovering from trauma and displacement
- Emergency support for clothing, hygiene items, and small essentials
- Strengthened local networks that support women long after crises
- Restored dignity and safety in one of the most vulnerable communities
Education Support in Burundi
In the hills of Burundi, many families struggle to keep their children in school. Tuition is often paid by term, and even small fees can become impossible barriers. Earlier this year, several students faced the risk of dropping out simply because their parents could no longer afford their school payments.
Through the Gold Life Foundation, support was directly given to the school to cover tuition for multiple children. Teachers captured the moment with photos and short videos, showing the students holding their receipts and standing proudly beside their instructors. For them, these payments were more than financial help; they represented stability, dignity, and the opportunity to keep learning without interruption.
Impact:
- School fees covered for multiple students who were at risk of dropping out
- Relief for teachers who often worry about students unable to continue
- Restored confidence for children who now feel supported and seen
- Strengthened community trust between families and local schools
